Quickly connecting programs and practitioners with the field's latest resources is a critical component of Advancing Dispute Resolution. The NAFCM Clearinghouse -- an unprecedented effort to connect the nation's entire network of community mediation programs with thousands of resources -- is one grand example of how advancing access, advances the field. This digital compendium released in 2013 is a crowdsourced collection of all-things-community mediation. Totaling over 6,000 items and selectively accessible to hundreds of program administrators, the NAFCM Clearinghouse contains full-text material from nearly 20 countries, 300 local programs, and over the past 40 years. It's intuitive categorization and 24/7 access makes the NAFCM Clearinghouse the premier member incentive and benefit for community mediation programs the world over. [Take a look.]
Field & Practice-Wide Analysis & Reporting
Understanding the latest trends can help color context, demonstrate impact, and identify emerging opportunities. Advancing Dispute Resolution's team has been involved in several extensive research projects, including the 2013 Volunteer Mediator study and NAFCM's 2011 State of Community Mediation. Both of these projects resulted in original research which revealed impressive, never-before reported statistics and helpful insights for local programs throughout the field. For "Volunteer Mediators: The Composition, Contribution, & Consequence of ADR Altruists," an extensive 18,000 word report and corresponding data visualizations was prepared to help elevate the awareness and engagement of our field's valuable volunteer resources. The "State of Community Mediation" represented the most comprehensive review of the U.S. community mediation field produced in the past decade. It aggregates and analyzes detailed reports from over 100 community dispute resolution organizations from nearly every state; exploring topics such as funding, operations, and impact. The final product was made freely available to help local programs appreciate their role in the broader community mediation movement and showcase their impact to local stakeholders. Both a formal published version and interactive online web version were developed for the project. [Take a look.]
